It or There?

"It or there, that is the question."

Incorrect use of it is or there is/there are is one of the most common mistakes Norwegian students make in writing or speaking English. As a general rule of thumb, you should try to remember that when it is possible to say “det fins” / “det finst” or “det eksisterer”, then you should use there is/was or there are/were.
